Dalecote Guest House is located in a convenient quite area in the town of Windermere.

The town of Windermere is just over a mile away from the largest natural lake in England, Lake Windermere. The town is a great place from which to access the rest of the lake district or to venture farther afield.

How to find us

The M6 motorway is just 16 miles away and the main London to Glasgow railway line has a stop off at Kendal Oxenholme station where you can catch the local connection to Windermere station.

By road you come off the M6 motorway at Junction 36 and head for Windermere on the A591. Turn left into Windermere itself and turn left at the co-op follow the road to nearly the end.

Dalecote Guest House is on your left before the road ends.

More places to visit

Windermere is situated in the south of The Lake District and is an ideal location from which to explore not only The Lakes but many other places of interest in Northern England and Scotland.

If driving you can be in Yorkshire in about an hour via Sedbergh and the travel on through through the Yorkshire Dales for a lovely day out.

In under 2 hours you could drive north to the Scottish Border passing Carlisle on the way.

But if you want to explore more of the lake district you can do this on foot, by car, by boat or public transport.
